Terry Lee founded LFG in 1988 to offer Hawaii residents a tax-free opportunity through a “no-load” mutual fund, the Hawaii Municipal Fund (SURFX). He subsequently expanded the firm to include wealth management services and a highly experienced team of financial professionals. Terry also created and previously served as the portfolio manager for the Lee Financial Tactical Fund (LOVIX), a defensive equity mutual fund from 2011 to 2017.

Terry is a graduate of Punahou School and the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa College of Business. His commitment to community service began in his youth through his affiliation with the Boy Scouts of America, where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Terry’s commitment to the community included volunteer leadership for Easter Seals Hawaii and the American Diabetes Association. Additionally, The Terry Lee Scholarship for Excellence has provided more than $100,000 in scholarships to local students at the University of Hawai‘i entering the business realm.

Outside of the finance world, Terry is an accomplished musician and athlete. His collection of Hawaiian music won the Hawaii Music Awards Contemporary Album of the Year in 2001. As a former volleyball player, Terry competed in 10 national tournaments and coached high school athletes. He holds a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu and currently serves as a self-defense instructor and NASM certified personal trainer.
